Overview
We celebrate the diversity of the gay lesbian bisexual transgender community in Wakefield and beyond. We challenge stereotypes and homophobia, break down barriers and build bridges.
Further Information
Our aim is to organise a Pride festival in Wakefield which celebrates the wide cultural and ethnic diversity of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender community across the district, to challenge homophobia and to increase the awareness and acceptance of their Human Rights.
We organise a parade of floats and organisations through the city centre and provide entertainment from a wide variety of cultures in the city centre and the local gay venues.
We encourage local businesses, charities and statutory bodies to demonstrate their support.
We aim to increase the reporting of homophobic hate crime incidents with a view to eradicating homophobia altogether .
