Howden Town Forum - East Yorkshire

Overview
The scheme transforms the Minister environs. Sculptures depict the four elements. In the church yard earth, at the west end water, sculptures down church side air and a fire sculpture at the east end.

Further Information
Howden Town Forum was established some 15 years ago with the objective of improving the built and green environment. Its memebership consists of interested Howden residents. The Minster Environs Project came about as the result of members wanting to improve and enhance the area arounf the Minister. An internationally renowned Sculpor, John Maine R.A. was commissioned to undertake the work. The project was phased. The final second phase being the Fire Sculpture.

The Forum has worked in partnership with the Local Authority, the Civic Society, Howden Schools, the Parochial Church Council and has received funding from the National Lottery, through the Arts Council England, Arts Council England (Yorkshire), local business, Howden Civic Society, Howden Rotary and others to bring this project to a successful conclusion.
